About

My French teacher used to give me two grades: one for the essay and one for the drawing, the illustration that accompanied it. After my studies, I informally had the opportunity to exhibit some watercolors on which I indulged during my free time.

From the age of 20 to 57, I have been a teacher - never really stopping sketching, painting, and drawing. My subjects ? My surroundings, my daughters, my colleagues, all my trips around the world. Those small slices of life that constantly inspire me.

As a self-taught artist, my general inspiration has always been fueled by my trips around the world. The pace of the french national education system allows me to discover a variety of incredible landscapes and numerous cultures. At 57, I am fortunate to benefit from the old retirement model and to be able to stop. At the same time, COVID happens, the world slows down, and my creations accelerate. My sensitivity to the climate and my environmental concerns intensify. This remains the cornerstone of my current work.

I now have the entire week to dedicate myself to my lifelong passion. The slowing down of life's pace due to the pandemic prompts me to use a completely new method in my creative universe: pointillism. Armed with my 0.03 Micron, I give birth to millions of small dots that connect the lines of spontaneous dreamlike landscapes we envision while confined.

A new way of traveling takes shape, one of perspective, imaginary landscapes, worlds where environmental sustainability reigns, where the organic and nature are masters.

Pointillism

The beauty and impact of pointillism lie in its ability to captivate viewers with its unique visual language, meticulous craftsmanship, and the overall stunning effect created by the careful arrangement of countless small dots thanks to micron 0,02 to 0,05.

Texture & Depth

The use of small, individual dots allows Sophie to create intricate textures and details. This technique can convey a sense of depth and three-dimensionality, even though the entire image is composed of tiny, flat dots.

By varying the size, density, and color of the dots, it generates patterns that contribute to the overall texture and shape of the composition. These patterns can evoke a variety of visual effects, from smooth gradients to more textured and granulated surfaces.
